The Oaktree Arena, home of the ‘Cases’ Somerset Rebels speedway team, is rated as one of the best speedway racing circuits in the country and is set in the heart of the countryside with fabulous views of Brent Knoll. The racing at Somerset has been profiled in recent years with the action at the Oak Tree Arena having been shown around the world courtesy of Sky Sports and BT Sport, earning the club many plaudits from near and far.
A meeting is contested over 15 heats of what can only be described as exhilarating, wheel to wheel, racing, the bikes having no brakes and no gears and the riders certainly have no fear as they battle elbow to elbow at break-neck speeds! The action is simply breath-taking and we guarantee you and your company won’t be disappointed and will leave you all wanting more.
Having been crowned Premier League Championship, Premier League Pairs, League Cup and Premier Shield winners in 2016, competitions which at the time were in the second tier of British Speedway, the club stepped up in grade in 2017 to join the newly branded Premiership. In 2018 the club came within half a lap of reaching the SGB Premiership Play-offs and triumphantly claimed the SGB Premiership Knockout Cup. The club opted to return to the SGB Championship in 2019.Four riders per race compete over four laps, with the bikes accelerating from 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds…..faster than a F1 Grand Prix car. Hundreds of people come to watch the action during the season here at the Oak Tree Arena, which runs from April to October, with Wednesday night's now being our regular home race night for us....so why not come and join them and catch the world champion in action? You certainly will not regret it.
