Scunthorpe's Stefan Nielsen has earned a guest call up for the Somerset Rebels when they head to the Steel City as he provides cover for injured Nico Covatti.

The in-form Covatti suffered a spectacular crash on Thursday night at Poole, following which he was detained in Poole Hospital until Saturday nursing a fractured rib. Nico was the cause of some concern as he was having breathing difficulties immediately after the crash. But it has since been diagnosed that air had become trapped between his thorax and lung which was causing him the discomfort. "They have told me it will take a few days before it all returns to normal" admitted the Argentinian who, after being discharged from the Dorset hospital was heading back to Italy to continue his recovery. "I have a small fracture of the rib and it is just about letting all that heal before I can be riding again."

That will be the only change to the Somerset side who have picked up five of a possible eight league points on their travels so far this season, as well as enjoying an away win at Birmingham in the SGB Championship Shield. The Rebels currently trail second placed Sheffield by three points but the Tigers have ridden three more matches to build up their 14 points.

But the home side have been forced into a line-up change after Kyle Howarth was served a suspension by the SCB after an incident with a pre-meeting drug test on Friday night that precluded him from making a guest appearance for Edinburgh. According to the Tigers' website Kyle had been taking over-the-counter medication in recent days to deal with illness and recent injuries, and something relating to the medication showed up in the sample. Further analysis is required. Pending those tests Howarth has been stood down by the SCB.

Three-season Rebel Jake Allen will deputise whilst Simon Lambert will take the reserve place left vacant due to Zaine Kennedy's current incapacitation after he crashed in his opening ride of Sheffield's last meeting at Scunthorpe on June 21st.
