Still wounded from seeing his side beaten at home in the SGB Championship on Wednesday night, team manager Garry May is urging his side to be on full-alert when they travel to Glasgow on Friday night (7.30pm).

"We have to be much better at the tapes than we were against Leicester last night" claimed May. "If you lose yards there it makes things so much harder and gives the opposition a much easier task. We are a much better team than we showed on Wednesday and having dropped league points at home now it means we need to find some extra on the road.
"Glasgow is not going to be easy. They have a good side and you can see by their results around Ashfield that they haven't conceded 40 points in a meeting there so far this season. That is a measure of the task facing us and I am asking my lads to prove to me just how good we can be."

No doubt Nico Covatti will be looking to produce a performance on the scale of his 11 point in his GP qualifying meeting at Glasgow on June 8th whilst Chris Harris was a Tiger last season.

The Rebels' hosts are blessed with the unbeaten Craig Cook as their number one. The 2018 GP rider, who has already booked his place in this year's Grand Prix Challenge, has strung together 29 rides at Ashfield this term without dropping a point. With the in-form ex-Rebel Rasmus Jensen also unbeaten in 12 of his 19 home rides this season and a maximum man in his last appearance at home, the Tigers certainly have impressive credentials. Jensen isn't the only 'old' face that will be welcoming the Rebels as both Paul Starke and Claus Vissing have spent time in Somerset teams over the years.

Glasgow have already qualified for the semi-finals of the SGB Championship Shield and defeated their rival Tigers, Sheffield in the first round of the KO Cup, competitions which the Rebels have already been eliminated from.

Friday's teams:
Glasgow: 1. Craig Cook (Capt); 2. James Sarjeant; 3. Rasmus Jensen; 4. Paul Starke; 5. Claus Vissing; 6. Connor Bailey; 7. Kyle Bickley - Team Manager - Cameron Brown
Somerset: 1. Rory Schlein; 2. Todd Kurtz; 3. Valentin Grobauer; 4. Nico Covatti; 5. Chris Harris (Capt); 6. Anders Rowe;
7. Henry Atkins - Team Manager - Gary May
