Sam has become the latest rider to receive a presentation cheque from SREF.

It has certainly been a busy time for the hard working members of the Somerset Riders’ Equipment Fund (SREF) as last Friday saw them present their fourth rider with a cheque to help with equipment cost, the latest recipient being Sam Masters who received a cheque for £500 prior to the club’s match against Newcastle.

Masters had suffered extensive bike damage in a crash during Somerset’s Easter Monday match at Scunthorpe, so the funds were most welcome to the 19-year old Aussie.

"Words cannot express how appreciative I am in receiving this money," Said Masters afterward, "I was really struggling to get my bike and equipment together after that crash and this will be a tremendous help. I want to thank both SREF for presenting me with the money and the fans who part with their hard-earned money to help SREF raise funds to help the riders with their equipment costs."
