Having seen her side lose by 20 points at Leicester on Monday, promoter Debbie Hancock is proclaiming that "our season starts here on Wednesday!"

With two washed out dates already behind them at the Oaktree the Rebels are looking forward to getting on their home circuit at long last on Wednesday and will have the added incentive of trying to avenge for that 35-55 beating by Leicester as the two sides meet again.

"We are going to put Monday behind us, lock it in the same drawer as our luck so far this season and start afresh. The weather is warming up and it will be a long-awaited return to some action, led by the awesome World Champion Jason Doyle. I really hope that the public can see for themselves how serious we are at making Somerset Speedway a big success, surely there can be no bigger marker than to bring the world number one here each week.
"I appeal to everyone to come along on Wednesday, perhaps bring a friend with them too and enjoy a great night out here at the Oaktree."

Whilst the Rebels will be unchanged for the SGB Premiership league match against the Leicester Lions, the visitors will have Cornishman Chris Harris on duty for them as he covers for the injured Martin Vaculik, who sustained a broken ankle at Swindon last Thursday. Also involved in that incident was the Slovakian's team-mate Michael Palm-Toft who, too, hurt his ankle, but is expected to take his place in the Lions' outfit.

"Bomber (Chris Harris) is always a popular rider to see here at Somerset" admitted Hancock, adding "so there is another good reason to make it a date."

The action will get underway at 7.30pm with Parker Transport SW Ltd sponsoring the meeting which will see a track debut for Jonas Jeppesen.
