Rebels number one Jason Doyle escaped serious injury after an horror crash in Poland at the weekend.

Riding for "Get Well" Torun, the reigning world champion collided with "Cash Broker" Stal Gorzow's Linus Sundstrom as he attempted a pass in the opening heat and was ruled out of the remainder of the meeting, attending the local hospital for a full medical check-over.

To the great relief of speedway fans the world over, the news came through before the end of the day that Jason had suffered no broken bones with Jason himself dismissing the incident as "just a little slide off.".

His Rebels and Torun team-mate Jack Holder scored paid 7 from 5 rides which included a disqualification in his third ride.

Elsewhere over the weekend, Richard Lawson, who will be guesting for Belle Vue at Poole on Wednesday, scored 9 points for Lakeside in their 50-40 win over Peterborough. Jake Allen finished strongly at Scunthorpe on Friday night. After failing to score from his first two outings against Redcar he contributed two unbeaten rides towards Scunny's 58-32 home win.

Charles Wright is due to ride for Belle Vue this evening (Monday) in place of broken leg victim Steve Worrall.

A reminder to all Rebels fans that there is no racing at the Oaktree Arena this week and the 'Cases' Rebels next meeting is on Monday 16th April when they travel, for the second time this year, to Leicester and then 48 hours later they will bring those Leicester Lions back to the Oaktree on Wednesday 18th April in the Parker Transport sponsored opening fixture at the OTA.
