RICHARD LAWSON will be taking to the track in just a fortnight, as part of the Lakeside-staged LEE RICHARDSON memorial meeting on 23rd March.

Lawson, who turned 32 on Valentines Day, will be 'doubling-up' with the Lakeside Hammers, who return to the SGB Championship this season, so his inclusion in the 12-strong field was inevitable

Lee Richardson was only 33 years of age when he lost his life as a result of a racing crash in Poland in May 2012 and was in his fourth season as a Lakeside Hammer. The former GB international was one of the most liked riders on the circuit.

  • The return to Lakeside, for whom he rode between 2013 and 2016, prior to the Essex club dropping back to third level speedway, means Lawson will be missing from the Rebels KO cup fixtures against Poole on Good Friday as it clashes with the Hammers' double affair against Ipswich that day.
